Jennifer Rene Psaki

Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American advisor to the political process, was the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, Psaki was previously the White House deputy secretary (2009), White House deputy communication director (2009-2011) as well as spokesperson for the United States Department of State 2013-2015, and White House communications Director (2015-2017). Psaki was an CNN political contributor from 2017 until 2020. Psaki's career started in 2001 when she began working on behalf of the reelection campaigns for Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrats running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was later appointed as deputy press secretary to John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Between 2005 and the year 2006, Psaki served as communications director to U.S. representative Joseph Crowley and regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was press secretary for President Obama's 2012 reelection campaigns. [20] Psaki was named the spokesperson of the United States Department of State. [20] The speculations that she was going to replace Jay Carney White House Press secretary once he left for the White House[21] were fuelled by her appointment at the Department of State. However, Josh Earnest was announced as Carney's replacement on May 30, 2014. In 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and was there until the end of the Obama administration.
